General

What is a Form Font anyway?
The name comes from the idea that a graphic style---Photo-real, NPR (Non-Photorealistic Representation), cartoon, comic book, Frank Lloyd Wright, Bauhaus, constructivism and etc--- is a representation.  One could say the Platonic version of an object is the ASCII equivalent. A chair is something that has 4 legs, a place to sit and a back rest.  It can be made to look many different ways. It can have many stylistic representations. The ASCII number for the ‘P’ is 80.  It is just a number. It has no relevance to anyone and is for the computer. It has no style. The style is given by the font. It can be Times New Roman, Arial or Helvetica. Someday we’ll be able in the same computer generated environment choose a chair, copy it X number of times and apply a font/rendering style. The name FormFonts is forward thinking to when the day arrives.
Yes, it’s a little heady and we’re dreamers. If we had to do it again we’d have chosen a different name. It would be a name that includes "3D models" in it. And no we don't offer text fonts.

What model formats do you offer?
We currently support TRIMBLE SketchUp™ ; Autodesk® 3ds Max®, Autocad®; FBX® and Revit® If there is a format you would like to see added to the site, please contact us (info@formfonts.com)

Will the models work in my modeling program?
We offer 5 formats. Many modeling programs import the SketchUp (.skp) format as it has become widely used. We have some sample models for you to try out. We don’t recommend using the Autocad dwf/dwg format unless you are using Autcad as the color information isn’t retained. Click here to see our sample models.

Do the Models work in all renderers?
We’ve hooked up with Twilight Render. Many of our models are render ready for Twilight. If you use a different renderer we recommending downloading some our sample models to test.

What can I expect each month?
There will always be new models available because our global team of 3D artists are working to meet your needs. If we do not have a model that you need, you can request it here (you must be Signed In to request a model). We look forward to considering your requests.

I requested a model, now what?
FormFonts 3D periodically makes models requested by our paid subscribers (no additional fee is charged). Models that have been made for our subs appear in the FormFonts library with a "By Request" tag.
FormFonts reviews each subscriber request, deciding whether or not to made the requested model based on its complexity; expanding the breadth of the library offering; and, if it is useful to many other subscribers.
Requests that included images and cut sheets are more likely to be made. We do our best to make most models in a timely manner. If you have not heard from us in one week after making the request, you can email us at (info@formfonts.com)
Periodically, companies will request that FormFonts 3D make an entire collection or catalog of 3D models for them. We make such models on a fee basis, and we are happy to bid on any custom/bespoke models you need made. Just send your bespoke modeling requests to (info@formfonts.com)

Do you offer high resolution models?
Generally we do not. Our focus is on making models with the right amount of polygons for the complexity of the model. Illustrated scenes and environments take many models to bring the model to life. If all models are high resolution containing many polygons and is a large file size, the modeling software like SketchUp slows down and renderings take longer.

What's "Native Revit"?
Native Revit lets you know the model was made from scratch within Autodesk Revit, and it is not a conversion from another modeling program.

Are all your Revit models "Native"?
Many of our Revit models are converted from SketchUp models. Their intention is for 3D rendered illustration and not construction documents. In the conversion process we maintain the ability for the subscriber to change the colors and materials in the Revit Material Browser and Object Styles Browser. To read the process we go through check out this blog posting Convert a SketchUp 3D Model to Revit.

Who subscribes to FormFonts?
Architects, Interior Designers, Interior Architects, Landscape Architects, Planners, Art Directors working in pre-productions in commercials, TV and movies, Comic Book Artists, Event Planners, Newspaper Graphic Departments, Exhibition Designers, AEC Companies, Retail and Brand Companies, Illustrators and more.

What if more than one person in my office is going to use FormFonts content?
A FormFonts subscription is to be user-named and used by one person. Each person using FormFonts content is to have a unique subscription.

Is FormFonts content royalty free?
FormFonts content is not royalty free. Content is to be used only with a valid and current subscription in 2D deliverables to clients. If you’re looking to use FormFonts content in interactive media, video games, web games, books and etc. please contact us at (info@formfonts.com)

Must I remove the FormFonts Content from 3D environments should my subscription end?
No, but if you return to use the FormFonts content again or extract it to use in a new project our EULA requires that you have a current subscription.

May I include FormFonts 3D models in deliverables to clients?
Only if your client has an active and valid FormFonts subscription. 2D rendered images of the 3D models are okay to include in the deliverable.

Why is FormFonts a subscription service only?
We’re geared for the professional who has the need for many models and wants to try out different things without worrying about the price of each. We’re like a food buffet. One price gets you in the door and then you can take the plate back many times.

May I purchase a single model?
We do not sell individual models.

New Accounts

How do subscriptions work?
A subscription is a departure from the 'pay per model' formula. You get full access to our site for a yearly fee of US$199 charged annually for an individual subscription. At US$16.58 per month, this means you're getting to use our professionally developed 2D and 3D models for a bargain. The more you use Form Fonts, the less each model costs you.

Can I subscribe for just one month?
No, our minimum initial subscription is 12 months. When you subscribe, you will be billed for the full 12 month subscription period. Your account will be automatically renewed (and you will be billed) annually unless you opt out. After the first 1 year subscription, you’re able to subscribe for 3 month, 6 month 1 year and 2 year time periods.

How do I opt out of automatic rebilling?
If you do not wish to have your subscription automatically renewed, please select the "End Automatic Subscription Renewal Billing" option on the "My Account" page that appears after logging in. You can do this at any time as your account will remain active through the end of the billing period that you paid for.

Do you offer refunds for cancelled subscriptions?
For new subscribers we do not offer refunds after models have been downloaded.

What if I'm a large design firm and need a corporate subscription?
Please contact us by email (info@formfonts.com) and we'll be ready to consider your special needs.

Existing Accounts

I'm having trouble logging in, what's wrong?
All passwords and usernames are case-sensitive. This is the most frequent cause of login failures. Please refer to the confirmation email sent to you upon account creation to confirm your username.
Another problem with logging in may be caused by a bad cookie stored in your web browser. To clear your cookies created by Form Fonts, click here. If you’ve tried to change your password via email without having logged in and have been unsuccessful, email us (info@formfonts.com) at and we’ll help you. Sometimes things get confused in our database especially if a subscriber has multiple accounts with us.

How do I change my password?
To change your password, Sign In to your account. The "My Account" page is displayed. Click on the tab labeled "Profile" located under the search box. Please verify and update all of your information while you're here, then type in your new password twice in the designated fields. Click "Save Profile" and your password will be changed.

How do I update my credit card information?
To update your credit card information, Sing In to your account. Select "My Billing Info" from the menu on the left. Update your credit card information and click "Save Billing Info".

Why is my account expiring?
Account expiration occurs due to credit card expiration or an error during rebilling. In the event of credit card expiration, we can no longer bill your credit card without your updated expiration date. An error during rebilling commonly occurs if you have changed the address information your credit card has on file. In either case, our renewal process is simple and 5 days before your account expires, a link will be shown at the top of your "My Account" page. This will take you to our secure subscription renewal page with your previous information filled in for you.

How do I stop the automatic billing and renewal of my subscription?
Click on the "End Automatic Subscription Renewal Billing" link located on the "My Account" page that appears after logging in. You can do this at any time as your account will remain active through the end of the billing period that you paid for. If your subscription automatically renews before you have had a chance to end auto-rebilling and have not downloaded models after the renewal date, contact us at (info@formfonts.com) to discuss your individual situation.

What is the "Remember Me" feature when I login?
When this button is selected and you Sign In once, Form Fonts will automatically sign you in each time you visit our site from your computer. This feature offers our users the ease of using Form Fonts, with out the hassle of signing in each time you visit. If you click the "Sign Out" link, it will end your session and it will cancel "Remember Me" mode.

Downloading

Can I download everything on the site?
Yes, but in order to prevent subscription abuse, we limit the number of models you may download each day to 30, and the number of times you may download the same model to 10. If you should pass this limit, your account will be temporarily deactivated from downloading any further objects of the type over-used. For example, if you download 30 models in one day, you will not be able to download more models that day, but you may continue downloading up to 30 images on that day.

Why do I sometimes get a "broken link" error?
Due to the security measures in place, users may only have one Form Fonts window open at a time when downloading models. This ensures that no one can "steal" your daily downloads, thereby protecting your account. If you require the ability to download multiple items at once and allow multiple users, please email us at (info@formfonts.com).

I decided to not download a file I clicked on, but it still counted against my downloads. Why?
When you click on a link, regardless of whether or not you choose to save the file, it is still sent to your computer in raw form. And since the file has begun to transmit, our server counts this as a download. We cannot verify the entire download was saved to your computer, as this would put your computer at a great security risk and require you to install additional software. Knowing that this situation may occur once in a great while is another reason we allow our users a generous number of downloads during the course of the day. In addition, the number of times you have previously downloaded a model is always displayed on the model page accompanying the model's information.

Features

What are collections?
Collections are groups of models and images that can be defined by artists and individual users. Artists create public collections that can be found on the collections list page. Subscribers can make their own collections by first creating a collection object (you must be Signed In to view the Manage Collections page) from the subscriber's options on the left hand pane. Once the collection object is created, navigate to any model and use the drop-down box to the right of the word "Collections" to add or remove models from the collection.

Can I join the Form Fonts team?
