Configuration #: 1
Configuration Name: Config 1
Description: Unlike traditional suspension lamps that consist of one piece, the Frisbi Pendant (1978) uses two parts to provide direct, diffused and reflected illumination. The lamp's small chromed dome reflects a cone of light onto the diffuser disc. A hole in the center of the diffuser allows a beam of light to pass through to the surface below. The light that spills onto the diffuser surface emits a soft glow while also illuminating the disc itself, appearing to float in mid-air. The Frisbi was designed by Achille Castiglioni who believed that "what you need is a constant and consistent way of designing, not a style." The designer was honored with the Compasso d'Oro award nine times.
